Operations Manager - Produce Repackaging Facility

Summary

Assist General Manager in directing and coordinating activities of repackaging facility in processing produce.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing sales orders in order to plan department operations
• Assist with planning production operations; establishing priorities
• Assist with coordination of production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities
• Assist with the review of production and operating reports and resolve operational and maintenance problems
• Assist with the inspection of machines and equipment and coordinate repairs
• Observe workers to ensure compliance with standards
• Assist with establishing production and quality control standards
• Review and analysis of reports to identify operating or production problems
• Assist with the development and analysis and control expenditures
• Assist in overseeing the development of personnel to effectively and accurately performing all operations under the guidelines of Lipman’s policies and senior management
• Assist with the review and approval of all invoices related to operations
• Assist in the resolution of worker grievances
• Assist Sales Manager in obtaining new business
• Train and test all forklift personnel for certification and perform ongoing training to maintain optimum safety compliance
• Coordinate safety program and training for compliance with company policies
• Other projects and duties as assigned

Supervisory Duties

Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of the Maintenance Foreman, Forklift Driver, Mechanic Foreman, Shipping Supervisor, Security Supervisor and Production Supervisors.

• Five to ten years of related experience and/or training;
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and long hours as needed.
• Ability to operate a computer using standard office software.
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish/English)
