Eldon Hess started farming in 1985 as a small u-pick operation. Since then, his three sons have been deeply involved in the family venture and it has grown tremendously. Harlan Hess, one of those sons, has inherited the managerial role of production and packing on the farm. Lipman has worked alongside Hess Farms as they have grown in acreage, production capacity, food safety, and product offerings over the years.
They now have 65 total employees. Hess Farms brings a large variety of fruit and vegetables to market including tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, chili peppers, eggplant, summer squash, and green beans. In 2013, Hess expanded its operations to include a new packing house which is used exclusively for tomatoes.
