Lipman/SixL’s has been growing tomatoes in the St. Helena Island area since the 1960’s. This unique geographic zone provides weather that is very conducive to growing high-quality tomatoes during two distinct seasons. Our farms are near sea level and enjoy late first frosts, early Spring warming, and cooler Summer temperatures than inland growing areas.
Tommy Gay, Lipman’s Farm Manager, has a rich history in the Beaufort area. His family is known for their hard work and continued operations in the shrimping industry. He is committed to the community, its residents, and the land, as this area is his home.

Gary Morgan has been farming at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on family property in Traveler’s Rest for 30 years. This area’s climate allows for a relatively long growing season for Gary’s beans, eggplant, bell pepper, squash and chili peppers. With 50 acres devoted to eggplant, Gary is one of the larger producers in the area.
